Tierra Sagrada Pottery: Sacred Earth Pottery

You are welcome to join our weekly explorations in Art & Clay, here at the historic “El Rancho de Cabeza de Baca”. We’ll work with the time-honored pinch, coil and slab methods; process clay found here onsite, burnish to a fine polish, and fire outside with sawdust. We’ll learn from the pottery traditions of the Keresan pueblo (ancestral to our neighbors at Cochiti and Santo Domingo) here in nearby La Cieneguilla, c. 1300-1500. Work exchange or barter are also welcomed; drop-in, fine, with a phone call to: 428-0668; same for questions. Rides available from ABQ, by request! Come by and tour the grounds, studio & gallery; free intro to clay digging and outdoor firing with optional future class — families & all ages, welcomed!

This weekly class welcomes one-timers visitors and regular attendees.

Artist Bio:
Lia Lynn Rosen has taught art and pottery with a spiritual and historic orientation for over 35 years. Her dual training in Bauhaus throwing and artistry is informed by deep knowledge and respect for ancient pueblo pottery traditions of the Southwest.
