TIERRA SAGRADA.SACRED EARTH:

OUR INHERITANCE IN ARTISTRY AND CLAY – march 10th (start date / 3-part workshop)

WHAT: Our heritage and history in the Southwest is rooted in land and landscape. Clay and broken pottery is found everywhere, and tell of a creative and functional enterprise carried on by women for at least 1500 years. This course will take participants from ancient shards and natural clay harvested from the earth, to their own expression in this welcoming material. Individual vessels and collaborative projects will result in beautiful handbuilt pieces, outdoor-fired, and intended to share knowledge of art between and about women, and create an historically aware and expressive community of clay artists.

WHEN: three Sundays, March 10, 17 and 24, 1 – 3 pm
WHERE: At the National Hispanic Cultural Center, National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 4th St SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102 / Outdoor firing on March 24 is held at artist’s La Cienega studio.

In Santa Fe:  All day "drop in" Friday, 10 am-6pm, at Tierra Sagrada Pottery,
